📚 What Makes This Course Different

Most software courses march you through menus: here's the Brush tool, here's the Clone tool, here's a dialog box you'll forget by lunch. This one doesn't. Every module is built around a finished deliverable — a fixed photo, a cleaned-up image, a graded portrait, a poster — and you learn each skill at the exact moment the project needs it.

It's also spiral: the four ideas that make Photoshop make sense — non-destructive editing, the layer stack, masks as grayscale, and selections — come back again and again, each time a little deeper. You don't "finish" layers in week one and move on. You keep meeting them until they're second nature.

🧠 A word before you start

If you've ever felt like Photoshop is "too much," that feeling is normal, and temporary. You are not going to learn all of Photoshop. Nobody has. You're going to learn the handful of ideas the whole program is built on, and then use them. Add the word yet to anything that feels hard today.

Deliverable: one photo, fixed and exported, in about 20 minutes.

The whole non-destructive loop, start to finish, before we slow down for theory: open, crop, one adjustment layer, export.

Now we slow down and build the mental model: the layer stack for real, masks as grayscale, and your first proper selections.

✅ Prerequisites

Very little. This course starts from zero.

  • A computer that can run Photoshop comfortably (Windows or macOS)
  • Basic file skills: you can find a photo on your drive and know where your Downloads folder is
  • Curiosity and a photo you care about a little

Required software

  • Adobe Photoshop (2024 or newer recommended, since Generative Fill in Module 6 needs a recent version). A 7-day free trial is enough to get started.
  • That's it. No plugins, no extra downloads.

💡 About the pictures in this course

Because this is a self-contained web course, the panels and dialogs you'll see are hand-drawn diagrams and labeled mockups, not live screenshots of your Photoshop, so they stay crisp on any screen and in dark mode, and they highlight only what matters for the step. The before / after examples are real edited images you can wipe between. When a mockup stands in for the real interface, it's clearly marked so you always know what you're looking at.
